Nontraditional Wedding Ceremony FAQ

Clear answers for the first ceremony-planning questions.

01Is the Decision Deck a legal tool?

No. It is a planning worksheet. For a legal ceremony, check the rules for the location and date involved.

02Does the Deck save personal information?

No. It runs in the browser and does not ask for names, contact details, diagnoses, faith, or orientation. Export is an explicit local download.

03Can a friend officiate our ceremony?

Often, but rules and filing processes vary. Our Texas guide links to current official sources and asks users to check locally.

04How do we include a cultural or religious practice respectfully?

Start with the people and communities who carry its meaning. Ask about authority, participation, adaptation, and what should remain private.

05What makes vendor language inclusive?

A label alone does not answer the question. Ask how names, roles, communication needs, and ceremony cues are collected and used.
